Description
This page allows you to view a list of the grace periods for this case recorded in the system. For CHIP, the effective date of coverage varies across states. If the effective date of coverage is the date of application, a state may also grant a number of days grace period when coverage is allowed to start prior to the application receipt date but not earlier than the beginning of an open enrollment period. A grace period is granted when circumstances beyond the control of the applicant prevents them applying for CHIP prior to the application date. The maximum number of days grace which a state grants is configurable and is stored as application property; the default value is 4 days.
