Description
This page allows the user to add a new grace period. For CHIP, the effective date of coverage varies across states. If the effective date of coverage is the date of application, a state may also grant a number of days grace period when coverage is allowed to start prior to the application receipt date but not earlier than the beginning of an open enrollment period. A grace period is granted when circumstances beyond the control of the applicant prevents them applying for CHIP prior to the application date. The maximum number of days grace which a state allows is configurable and is stored as application property; the default value is 4 days.
